I had a great year in terms of athletic performance with Sam. I came from playing the French ProD2 that they didn’t give much importance to fitness as they do in England, I’ve improved a lot my speed and running technique and also in the gym, every month Increasing my weights, much of that growth was thanks to Sam, we created a nice relationship, he is a very professional guy focused on his work but also very funny and good guy, always aiming for the best for his players, that makes his session very interesting , enjoyable and fun.

I have worked with Sam during my time from the 2018-2020 season. Sam was assigned to me when I had injured my MCL towards the back end of the 2018 season. The level of expertise in sports conditioning that he possessed really helped me on a day to day basis and topped off by the energy he brought to the sessions made it more enjoyable which kept me focused and returning to play a few weeks before schedule. A lot of which was accredited to Sam. Being in an elite sporting environment, I would definitely work with Sam again in future and would recommend him as a high quality strength & conditioning coach. Top Lad!

Mine and Sam’s relationship was not just as a player and an S&C coach. We developed a very good relationship which made me trust in him more. I had hip injuries and back injuries and Sam helped me through those with specific programmes for each. Sam isn’t your generic S&C coach, he likes to think outside the box and really try and find interesting ways to develope you in whatever way is needed. My favourite sessions were the agility sessions and speed work focusing a lot on different types of bounds, technical drills and maximal efforts.

Sam and I had a very close relationship. During my lower body injury he helped me build up my upper body in the early stages and then rebuild my lower body. He was also good crack which made the sessions more enjoyable and came up with new intuitive training sessions so I didn’t get bored. All round a top bloke and a hard working detailed coach.

I worked with Sam for a season at Ealing. I was unfortunate to get injured but fortunate to be able to work with the big man for my rehab S&C. It’s always a tough time." getting injured but working with Sam made it enjoyable to work hard and celebrate getting stronger and fitter. It makes a huge difference when you’re S&C coach is genuinely pleased for you. I left that season with a 75kg weighted chin up which I’ve not been able to match since. He knows what he’s talking about and he’s one of the good guys. A great bloke and a pleasure to work with!
